Oh yeah! Sounds like BOSCO'S!	WE WON! BUFFY'S BACK! After more than a year of overt and behind the scenes action, Buffy The Vampire Slayer will again be available in Anchorage! The Warner Bros. Network has sold the show to UPN, Channel 5. BOSCO'S is not at liberty to discuss the complete role we had in this, but we can say we are pleased to have been part of the effort. The Anchorage return will be October 9 and we're working to make an event of it! Saturday, June 24th, 2000 BOSCO'S "Million Fan" March! Marching for sensible entertainment choices! We had a great crowd of marchers and supporters helping push the cause! We did not draw quite a million marchers but there was far more than none and the noise was audible! We made our point as only peaceful protest can! Here are some pictures from our march through Spenard on June 24, 2000. The excitement was high at the reviewing stand as John Bosco greeted the marchers. After a rousing speech (some say they were reminded of the passion of Che Guevara), names were drawn for the winners of the Rogers Cable promotion! The moment was a triumph for all! Big Winners in the Valley! Rogers Cable in the Mat-Su Valley picked up the Warner Brothers Network in June! In suppport, BOSCO'S organized a "Welcome WB" promotion for all subscribers. Prizes of Pokemon cards, Buffy cards, Superman cards and comics were given away. If Rogers Cable with only 7,000 subscribers can find the room for WB, we are sure GCI can do it, too! Monday, June 5th, 2000 Buffy / Pokemon on the agenda? GCI will be having its annual shareholders meeting on June 8 at 5pm at Josephines at the Anchorage Sheraton Hotel. Send your emails to Ron Duncan today! Wednesday, December 1, 1999 Our Campaign Begins! Join us in our quest to get two of the hottest television programs back on the air! We are asking everyone to help us in our letter writing campaign to get Pokemon and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer back on the air in Alaska. Take a minute or two to send a message to Mr. Ron Duncan of GCI. In days of yore, TV Stations could pick and choose programs produced by the Warner Brothers Network. Anchorage's Channel 5 chose some of the top programs in the country including Pokemon and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer . Life was good! In August, Warner Brothers decided that they had enough good programs to fill an entire channel. So the WB Network put the squeeze on local stations and told them it was all or nothing! Anchorage's Channel 5 was unable to dump all of their other programs (i.e. Star Trek Voyager). That left Alaska without any of the WB Network shows!! It is possible for Alaska's GCI Cable to carry the WB Network if they bump another channel. They carry lots of lame channels that no one watches. (i.e. coverage of state and national government. Yech!) So far, they have refused to make room for shows people like! You can see that Big Corporate Shenanigans have left Anchorage without these important shows! BOSCO'S wants to right that wrong! In December we are conducting a write in campaign to Ron Duncan, President and founder of GCI. We'll use our website, calendar of events, ads in the paper and postcards we'll hand out at the stores and lots of other locations around town. Send to Ron Duncan and GCI the message loud and clear: "We want Buffy! We want Pokemon!"
